The Rector, the Rev’d Steven Brookes

The Rector, the Rev'd Steven BrookesFr Steven was born in Warrington in 1960 and educated at the Boteler Grammar School, Warrington and Lancaster University. He trained for the priesthood at Cuddesdon College and served two curacies in the Diocese of Liverpool at Old Swan and West Derby. He spent some years as a naval chaplain before returning to parochial ministry as Rector of Weybridge in Surrey. He was appointed Rector of Liverpool in 2003. His interests include church buildings and conservation, and foreign travel (especially to Spain). He is a member of the Archbishops' Council's 'Cathedrals and Church Buildings Council.

The Assistant Priest, the Rev’d Robert Mackley

The Rev'd Robert MackleyFr Robert was born in Nottingham in 1978 and educated at the King’s School Grantham and Christ’s College, Cambridge. He trained for the priesthood at Westcott House and served his first curacy in Clerkenwell in the Diocese of London. He was appointed Assistant Priest of Liverpool Parish Church in 2006. His interests include church history, theology, politics, Nottingham Forest and sporadic gym attendance.


The Honorary Assistant Priest, the Rev’d John Williams MBE

Father John.Fr John was born in Lancashire in 1944, growing up in Penmaenmawr, north Wales and then Liverpool. Graduating in Art History and Visual Communications from Manchester University, he has spent much of his career teaching at Liverpool Polytechnic (now John Moores University) as a senior lecturer in graphics and visual communications. He trained for the priesthood on the Northern Ordination Course and served his curacy in Stoneycroft before being appointed Honorary Assistant Priest of Liverpool Parish Church in 1983. As well as being Chaplain to the Regional School of Art in Liverpool and a Territorial Army Chaplain for ten years, he has spent almost thirty years as a Royal Naval Reserve Chaplain. In the year 2000 the Queen appointed him MBE for his services to the maritime community.
